The Member of Parliament for Salaga South in the Savannah Region, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has extended support to three communities in the Kulaw Ward affected by a recent rainstorm.
The storm, which struck on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, caused widespread destruction, displacing residents and damaging property, including schools and other public institutions. The damage is estimated to run into thousands of cedis.
The affected communities—Telkpa, Buma, and Akamade—received relief items donated on behalf of the MP by a delegation led by the Constituency Organiser and Municipal Chief Executive nominee, Mr Kassim Yazid Rabiu.
Prior to the donation, the MP had dispatched a team to the affected areas on Sunday, 6 April, to assess the extent of the damage and express solidarity with the victims.
Presenting the items, which included a total of 39 packets of roofing sheets, Mr Rabiu conveyed the MP’s deep concern for the affected households. He explained that the donation was intended to provide immediate relief and assist victims in beginning the rebuilding process. He also announced the MP’s commitment to supporting the rehabilitation of damaged public and community infrastructure.
In Telkpa, which recorded the most severe damage, 30 packets of roofing sheets were distributed. Buma and Akamade received four and five packets, respectively.
