Position Description/Job Purpose
The Software Support Staff is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to software applications used in the biometric passport process. This role ensures that software issues are resolved promptly, user queries are addressed effectively, and software systems are updated and maintained to enhance operational efficiency.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support for all software applications used in the passport application process.
Issue Resolution: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and disruption.
User Assistance: Assist end-users with software-related queries and provide guidance on the effective use of software applications.
System Maintenance: Perform routine software maintenance, including updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of software configurations, support requests, resolutions, and any changes made to software systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with the software development team to identify and address software bugs and suggest improvements.
Training: Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure they are proficient in using the software applications. Update training manuals with new information.
Testing: Assist in testing new software applications and updates to ensure they meet operational requirements before deployment.
Compliance: Ensure all software support activities comply with BTS policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Monitoring: Continuously monitor software performance and proactively address potential issues before they escalate.
Reporting Relationships
Reports To: CEOs/Management Team
Collaborates with: Software Development Team, IT Team, End-Users
Location & Commitments
Location: Accra, Ghana, with travel to various BTS locations as required.
Commitment: Full-time, with potential for occasional extended hours during peak times or to address urgent issues.
Working Conditions
Office environment with frequent interaction with various software applications and users.
May require extended periods of computer use.
Continuous need to provide remote support outside, which could be outside regular business hours.
