Position Description/Job Purpose
The Hardware Support Staff is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of hardware components and systems. This role ensures that all hardware used in the biometric passport application process operates efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and enhancing overall productivity.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain hardware systems and components, including computers, printers, scanners, and biometric devices.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues promptly to minimize disruption to operations.
Preventive Measures: Implement proactive maintenance procedures to prevent hardware failures and extend the lifespan of equipment.
Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of all hardware equipment and ensure that spare parts and replacements are readily available.
User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, assisting them with hardware-related issues and ensuring they can operate equipment effectively.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of hardware configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs conducted.
Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration and operation of hardware within the broader IT infrastructure.
Compliance: Ensure all hardware installations and operations comply with BTS policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Training: Assist in training staff on the proper use and care of hardware equipment.
Security: Ensure the physical security of hardware equipment, implementing measures to prevent unauthorized access or damage.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to: CEOs/Management Team
Collaborates with: IT Team, Operations Staff, End-Users
Location & Commitments
Location: Accra, Ghana, with travel to various BTS locations as required.
Commitment: Full-time, with potential for occasional extended hours during peak times or to address urgent issues.
Working Conditions
Office environment with frequent interaction with various hardware components.
May require lifting and transporting hardware equipment.
Potential exposure to dust and electrical components during hardware maintenance and repair tasks.
