Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. Education:
o Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or A masters degree is a plus.
o Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., ICAG, ACCA, CIB) may be preferred.
2. Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit management, risk assessment, or a related field in the financial institution is preferred
o Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role may be required.

Description
Job Summary: A Credit Manager plays a crucial role in managing an organization's credit policies and ensuring the effective management of credit risk.
Responsibilities:
- Credit Policy Development:
- Develop, implement, and update credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices with the approval of the CEO.
- Credit Risk Assessment, Application and Review:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
- Determine credit limits and terms for customers based on risk assessment.
- Make recommendations on credit applications.
- Regularly review existing credit accounts to assess ongoing creditworthiness.
- Credit Monitoring:
- Monitor customer accounts to identify any changes in credit risk.
- Set up and manage credit monitoring systems to track customer payment patterns and behaviors.
- Collections Management:
- Oversee the collection process for overdue accounts.
- Work closely with collections teams to recover outstanding payments while maintaining customer relationships.
- Credit Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular credit reports to management, highlighting key credit metrics and potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with credit reporting regulation.
- Prepare monthly and other ad hoc credit related prudential returns for submission to the Bank of Ghana.
- Credit Analysis:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
- Provide recommendations for credit enhancements or modifications.
- Collaboration:
- Oversee the management and supervision of team members by reviewing their work, providing feedback, and offering guidance. Additionally, work closely with sales, finance, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to credit management.
- Collaborate with legal teams on credit-related issues and disputes.
- Compliance:
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations governing credit management.
- Ensure all credit-related activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
9. Credit Administration
- Ensure that all customer information inputted into the banking software are of the highest integrity.
- Ensure that all customer information and documents are securely locked and not made available to anyone without the requisite authorization or completion of the necessary request procedures.
- Ensure that credit reports are timely submitted to the required credit bureaus.
- Ensure that all credit collateral registrations and release are timely done and the related prudential returns are submitted timely to Bank of Ghana and the Registrar General and other relevant agencies.
