Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and managing the costs associated with the production of our pharmaceutical products. This role involves preparing detailed cost reports, conducting variance analysis, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting principles, cost management, and financial analysis, specifically within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze production costs and identify areas for improvement.


• Prepare detailed cost reports that reflect accurate product costing.


• Conduct regular reviews of standard costs and update as necessary.


• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.


• Monitor budget performance and report variances to management.


• Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant data for budgeting purposes.


• Oversee inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average) to ensure accuracy.


• Conduct periodic inventory audits to verify stock levels and assess discrepancies.


• Work closely with supply chain management to optimize inventory levels.


• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to cost accounting.


• Provide insights into cost trends and profitability analysis for different product lines.


• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation related to cost accounting.


• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements specific to the pharmaceutical industry.


• Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting processes.


• Collaborate with R&D, production, procurement, and sales teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.


• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.


• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department.


• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting.
