Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman will lead a high-level delegation to the Central Region to inspect the proposed site for Africa’s largest Free Zones Industrial Park, a flagship project under Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy initiative.
The inspection team will include the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, the Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission, leaders of the Car Dealers Association of Ghana, private investors, and other industry stakeholders.
The delegation will be officially received by the Central Regional Minister, Ekow Panyin, traditional authorities including the Paramount Chiefs of the Gomoa Ajumako and Gomoa Assin Traditional Areas, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah and Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea, respectively, as well as the District Chief Executive, Hackman Aidoo.
The proposed Free Zones Industrial Park is expected to become a major commercial and industrial hub within the next decade, generating more than 300,000 jobs and significantly contributing to Ghana’s economic growth and regional industrial development.
On the same day, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang will also commission an ultramodern poultry farming facility at Gomoa Pomadze, developed by the Ahmadiyya Community. The facility is anticipated to strengthen Ghana’s agro-industrial value chain, improve national food security, and create sustainable employment opportunities for young people.
The visit highlights the government’s commitment to driving industrialisation, boosting employment, and promoting strategic investments that align with Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.
