The Ghana Library Authority has stressed the government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s educational sector by constructing more libraries.
According to Hayford Siaw, Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, the government is focused on promoting learning across the country.
In an interview with Citi News following the groundbreaking ceremony for a new library at Asofan in the Ga North Municipality, Mr. Siaw stated that public libraries need to be well-equipped to support free education initiatives, underscoring the government’s dedication to this cause.
“A library is the university for all and so it is exciting for us that we can bring our services to the doorstep of the people living in Ghana. This is an established priority for the government, that the government wants to promote learning, and we want to promote free education for the people of Ghana.
“For free education to be successful, there is a need to equip our public libraries so that they can be accessible to the Ghanaian people. I believe that you know, Ghanaians will have confidence and faith in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s social policies for education.”
