Akosua Agyeiwaa, a 39-year-old trader who assaulted a woman farmer and dragged her on the ground, was on Friday granted GHC 600 bail by the Kade District Magistrate's Court.
Agyeiwaa pleaded not guilty to intentional and unlawful assault and will reappear on April 23.
Police Inspector D.A. Atigsika told the court that Abena Afrakoma and the accused reside at Akyem Dwenase and for the past three years they had not been on speaking terms.
On March 6, the complainant was going to visit a friend when she heard someone calling her from behind
When Afrakoma turned and saw Agyeiwaa she did not stop but the accused increased her steps and caught up with her.
She then asked complainant what she had told her son, Kwame Richard, to tell her but Afrakoma did not answer thereupon the accused slapped her twice and she fell down.
Not satisfied, accused held the complainant's dress and pulled her on the ground for a distance before releasing her.
The complainant made a report to the police and the accused was arrested.
