HIGHLIFE enthusiasts and particularly fans of Ghanaian musician, Felix Owusu will get a break from the artiste’s long absence on a Ghanaian stage when Felix Owusu Live in Concert comes off at +233Jazz Bar and Grill on Saturday, March 29.
Felix Owusu Live in Concert has been put together by the Okwantuni singer and his team to reconnect with his fans back home after plying his trade in USA for over a long time.
On the night, Felix Owusu will be joined on stage by Highlife artistes Quarmy Zaggy and Nana Fynn, now known as The 2 Lock.
Since the 90s, Felix has built a strong reputation as a great musician, thrilling lovers of Highlife music with songs such as Vida, Mara Me Boy, E Show Me, Happy Birthday, Mensu, Forever Love, Ma Bre and Sika Ye.
After being off the music scene in Ghana for a good number of years, he broke his ‘silence’ in March 2024 with Seniwa featuring Quarmy Zaggy.
Chatting with Graphic Showbiz about the Saturday jam, he said he will be performing the song as well as other well-known ones from his collection of music.
“This is more like a homecoming for me having been away for years. I’m excited about this and already motivated by the feedback about the event.
“Felix isn’t a stranger to Ghanaian audience. For years, Ghanaians have sang and danced to my music. It will be nostalgic moment of reliving the 90s and I know patrons will have a good time,” he added.
Felix has performed and collaborated with some of the big names of Highlife music including Kojo Antwi, Paapa Yankson, and Amakye Dede among others.
He released his first album, Vida, produced by Daddy Lumba in 1992. The immense success led to several other albums in the ensuing years.
In 1996, he released his most successful album yet, E Show Me with hit tracks such as Happy Birthday, Okwantuni among others, recorded in London.
His other albums are Adam Nana, Members Only and Wa Ben.
