Mr Ndego Mohammed Awindago, Aspiring Bawku Central Constituency Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for unity among party members in the constituency and the country at large to enable the party exit opposition.
He noted that his experience in the party since 1992 had shown that, only unity and trust for one another would bring the NDC back to power come 2020, and said many members had retreated from the party due to divisions in the party.
Mr Awindago made the call on Monday in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bawku in the Upper East Region to avail his intentions to contest the Bawku Central Constituency Chairmanship position
The Manager has assumed other branch duties including; branch secretary, chairman among others of the party in the constituency level since 1992, 1996 and 2000 underscored the need to bring all members on board in order to secure victory come the general elections.
He told the GNA that following divisions in the party, he formed the undertone Zonal Chairmen Association which schools party executives and members on the need to stay focused and be faithful to the party.
Mr Awindago said the association created a platform that allowed members to deliberate on issues of importance that affected the development of the party in the constituency and forged possible ways to sustain its growth and hinted that the association promoted solidarity among members and brought about possible plans and strategies on board that helped to secure the 2008, 2012 victories among others in the constituency.
The Aspirant explained that, he had the experience to administer the affairs of the party at the constituency level as chairman, because he was committed to promoting the welfare of members of the party and the constituency in general.
He gave the assurance that he would operate an open door administration and promote unity in the party and encourage participation in the decision making process for the party to grow in the constituency and beyond.
The Aspirant urged party members in the constituency to give him the nod to lead the constituency, because he was proactive enough to articulate issues confronting the party in the constituency and therefore called on members who think they have been neglected to put the past behind them and join the family to reunite.
