Mr Joseph Onyinah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, has asked authorities of basic schools to adopt the best acceptable approach in preparing students for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
He said under no circumstance should school authorities condone the practice of buying "supposed leaked" exams question papers for their candidates in the BECE Examination.
Mr Onyinah said this at an Open Day ceremony organised by the St. Francis Educational Centre at Bomso in Kumasi on Tuesday.
The Regional Director said adopting a short-cut approach to passing an examination was not only dangerous and illegal but could also hamper the nation's educational progress.
He said government had taken steps to promote quality education through an enhanced teacher education, provision of infrastructure and logistics as well as encourage community participation in the running of schools.
The Regional Director, therefore, urged teachers to take advantage of opportunities that came their way to further their education.
Mr Francis Owusu-Ansah, Director of the school said St Francis had succeeded in giving quality education to most Ghanaian children since its establishment in 1985.
He urged Ghanaians, especially the youth to be law-abiding.
