Most Reverend Thomas Mensah, Kumasi Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop, inaugurated 200,000 Ghana Cedi community library at Bomso, a suburb of Kumasi.
The construction of the library, which has been stocked with about 4,000 books, was initiated by Mr. Francis Owusu-Ansah, a former editor of the Ghana News Agency.
Most Rev. Mensah expressed concern about the poor reading habit of some pupils and students, resulting in poor language proficiency.
He asked school authorities to encourage pupils and students to visit the library regularly to enable them to improve upon their academic standards.
Mr. Owusu-Ansah commended Mr. John Osei-Babie, an engineer and philanthropist, for donating books to the library.
He urged the people, especially children to make good use of the library.
