He, therefore, called on world leaders to come together and push for an end towards all forms of conflicts on the global stage.

Prof. Duncan explained that the problem of conflict and wars in the world were as a result of the actions of man over the years which had created injustices in the system.

He further urged all individuals to agree to be ambassadors of peace at the global level.

Prof. Duncan made the call at the fourth annual lecture of the Centre of Awareness Global Peace Mission at Cape Coast on Sunday on the theme “Targeting leadership across the globe to achieve global peace”.

 The lecture also witnessed the launch of a five-year strategic plan that focuses on the promotion of peace worldwide.

In attendance were traditional leaders, the media, educational institutions and local assemblies.

Prof. Duncan stated that there was no need for people to engage in conflict with its attendant cause of destruction to property and loss of lives.

He said the organisation was for the promotion of peace worldwide, and would not support any faction in conflict situations.

Prof. Duncan argued that conflicts and wars witnessed in the world had resulted in disruption in the world economy and explained that many lives had also been lost.
 
He indicated that COA-GPM was committed towards 100 percent solution to all conflict situations and expressed their determination to remain neutral in all their dealings.

He noted that the current situation involving the Russia-Ukraine conflict showed that the world was on the brink of a third world war, but was quick to add that it would never happen.

Prof. Duncan further stated that the world would soon boast of a cure for HIV/AIDS and other infections, adding that a number of research had been carried out “and we’re confident of a breakthrough in that area.”
 

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Justina Marigold Assan, in her remarks, urged Ghanaians and politicians in general to shun attitudes that had the tendency to divide the council.
She called for a change in the narrative where everybody would be united towards the development of the country.
She said peace building was critical towards ensuring a reduction of violent conflicts in the country and the world in general.
 

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Roland Affail Monney, on his part, commended Prof. Duncan for his commitment towards global peace.

He underscored the need for Media practitioners to be cautious in their reportage, especially with conflict related issues.

The Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osaberima Kwesi Atta II, for his part, called on Ghanaians and the world at large to live in harmony with each other.
