His Excellency Bernard Quintin, Belgium’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Federal Cultural Institutions, has been designated by Her Excellency Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to represent the European Union (EU) at the inauguration of President-elect John Mahama on January 7, 2025.
Minister Quintin will be joined by:
- H.E. Irchad Razaaly, EU Ambassador to Ghana
- H.E. Carole van Eyll, Ambassador of Belgium to Ghana
- H.E. Sibille de Cartier d’Yves, Belgium’s Special Envoy for the Sahel and West Africa
- Philip Haspeslagh, Adviser to the Belgian Foreign Minister
As the EU’s envoy, Minister Quintin will emphasize EU-Ghana partnership priorities, including job creation, economic diversification, sustainability, and regional security.
The inauguration marks a pivotal moment in Ghana’s history, and the high-level EU delegation underscores its commitment to Ghana as a partner in sustainable development and regional stability.
