The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly has built 30 classroom blocks within the past two years as part of efforts to end the holding of classes under trees.
Madam Theresa Adomako Tawiah, the District Chief Executive, said additionally, it has supplied 3,000 school chairs and tables.
She was addressing the closing ceremony of a two-week vacation classes organized for pupils and students in the area at Nyinahin on Wednesday.
A local NGO, Paragon Personal Development Consultancy (PPDC), were the organizers.
Mrs Adomako said the school feeding programme had been extended to cover two more schools to bring the total number of children fed at least one hot meal a day in the district to 1,619.
Besides, 2,000 uniforms and 32,500 exercise books had been distributed freely to school children in fulfilment of the President Mills election campaign promise.
She said to inspire the pupils and students to work hard on their books the Assembly would sponsor the education of candidates, who excelled in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Mrs Adomako-Tawiah is personally supporting eight students at the Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School.
She advised the children to be disciplined and shunned immoral acts such as pre-marital sex, watching pornographic videos, alcoholism and drugs, which could ruined their future.
Sheikh Abdul Nasiru-Deen, Executive Director of the PPDC, said their goal was to assist to improve on the academic performance of schools.
