The residents of the Amansie West District can now enjoy quality health care following the completion of the Manso-Nkwanta Health Centre.
The facility, equipped with a pick-up vehicle and two motor bikes, was implemented with support from the OPEC Fund.
Inaugurating the centre, Mr Kofi Opoku-Manu, the Ashanti Regional Minister, said the government was determined to ensure that health care was
accessible to all the people, particularly, those in rural communities.
He thanked OPEC for helping to meet the health needs of the people in the area and asked the health personnel to take good care of the facility.
They should also work hard and maintain high standards of professionalism.
Mr Joseph Adomako, the District Director of Health Services, said the completion of the facility would significantly help to bring relief to the
people as they would no longer travel long distances to Agroyesum, when they are sick.
He appealed to the government to build a nurses' quarters for the centre to solve the accommodation problem faced by nurses posted to the district.
Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, Omanhene of Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Area, said he was confident that the centre would soon be upgraded into a district
hospital.
He said they were grateful to both the government and OPEC for the project.
