Mr Kwaku Amoah-Tutu, Nkoranza South District Director of Education in-charge of Schools Inspection, has said the successful implementation of the educational reform programme depended
largely on the output of teachers in providing quality teaching.
He therefore urged teachers to put up their best to help improve the academic performance of students and educational standards in the country.
The District Director was addressing a general meeting of teachers in Nkoranza Circuit, during the maiden visit of Madam Philippa Banson, the new
District Director of Education to the area.
Mr Amoah-Tutu stressed that the leadership of the country acknowledged teachers as major stakeholders in the national development process, and urged them to work diligently to move the district forward.
He assured the new Director of Education of the teachers' readiness to co-operate and support her, and expressed the hope that she would also
develop a loving and accommodating attitude towards them.
Mr Robert Benefo, Nkoranza Circuit Supervisor, in a welcoming address, advised the teachers to live above reproach and eschew negative practices
that could tarnish the image of the profession.
He called on the teachers to co-operate with their head teachers and headmasters to set better educational standards in the district.
Madam Banson expressed gratitude to the teachers, and urged them to work according to the ethics of the profession, so they could command
respect in the communities.
