Businesses in Ghana have been drawn into the Black Friday sales promotions which have dominated shopping in the United States for several years.
Companies in Ghana have taken advantage of its popularity to drive sales and attract new customers locally.
Set for the Friday after thanksgiving in November in the United State of America, many businesses in Ghana pick the month of November to offer low prices with major sales and flash prices on selected Fridays.
Nallem Clothing, Telefonika, Jumia Ghana, Shoprite, Melcom and many more have all slashed prices as part the Black Friday Sales.
Mr Okey Igbo , Manager for Telefonika Branch at the Accra Mall, said he expected sales to boost after working hours as has been the norm. He said that compared to last year, sales have improved and urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the promotion for original and quality gadgets. Mr Igbo disclosed that sales went up last year resulting in a restock of the shop before the Black Friday promo ended.
This year's sales he noted, will end on Sunday 25th November with the main 24 hour Black Friday sales ending on 23rd November.
He said reduced items at all Telefonika branches include Galaxy J7 New now going for GHC 590 instead of the retail price of GHC750 , Samsung S6 Plus going for GHC2,490 instead of a retail price GHC 2,650, and Samsung S9 going for GHC2,740 instead of GHC3,290.
Online business platform Jumia is also running its Black Friday Sales till 7th December 2018. All categories of the online platform are featured with phones, tablets, home and living , fashion and gadgets dominating the list of ordered items.
Jumia has also introduced features such as the treasure hunt to offer 99 per cent off high value items such as Samsung phones, Apple Iphones and LG TV sets.
Fashion store, Nallem Clothing who have dominated the fashion industry with great designs and good customer solutions is also partaking in the promotion with 35 per cent and 45 per cent off items. The last Friday in November will see more promotions to excite both new and old customers. Their online platform is offering ease of shopping with online chats and delivery on purchased items.
