SALES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW
A leading company in the lubricants and grease industry seeks a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager, preferably based in Accra or Kumasi, to drive business growth and expand market presence in Francophone West Africa. The company specializes in providing high-quality lubricants and grease solutions for various industrial and commercial applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and ensuring revenue growth. A strong understanding of the lubricants and grease industry, including product applications, competitive landscape, and market dynamics, is essential for success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase market share in Francophone regions.
- Identify and engage potential distributors, industrial clients, and key stakeholders in the lubricants and grease sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct market research to analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and pricing structures, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall profitability of the business through proactive business development initiatives.
- Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers to facilitate informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including supply chain and logistics, to ensure seamless product availability and timely delivery.
- Prepare and present detailed sales reports, forecasts, and updates to management, highlighting key market insights and performance metrics.
- Develop and execute marketing and promotional plans to drive sales growth and increase brand awareness.
- Identify potential partnerships and negotiate contracts with distributors and key clients.
- Monitor customer feedback and market demands to provide insights for product development and service improvements.
- Train and mentor junior sales representatives to enhance team effectiveness and productivity.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to strengthen market presence and business opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
Language Proficiency: Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken) is a mandatory requirement.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven sales experience in the lubricants, grease, or related industry, covering both B2B and B2C segments.
Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of the West African market, particularly in Francophone countries, with an established network of industry contacts.
Sales & Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to drive sales and maintain long-term partnerships.
Independence & Travel Flexibility: Ability to work independently and travel extensively within the region and around countries.
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with lubricant product applications, performance characteristics, and industrial usage is an advantage.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze challenges, develop strategic solutions, and adapt to changing market conditions.
Analytical Abilities: Strong data analysis skills to assess sales trends, customer behavior, and market performance.
Resilience & Adaptability: Capable of working under pressure, meeting sales targets, and adjusting to dynamic business environments.
CRM & Reporting: Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and reporting tools is preferred.
