Job Overview:
The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet company and regulatory standards. This role involves implementing and maintaining quality control processes, conducting inspections, testing materials, and ensuring adherence to established specifications to meet customer satisfaction and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct regular inspections of products and materials to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Perform tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to identify defects, inconsistencies, or non-compliance.
- Record and report the results of inspections and tests.
Quality Control Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality control activities.
- Prepare reports outlining quality issues, non-conformance, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure proper documentation of all quality audits and inspections for compliance and traceability.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and quality control policies.
- Ensure that all quality control activities follow internal and external regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Review and update SOPs as needed.
Non-Conformance Management:
- Identify and document any non-conformance issues.
- Coordinate with other departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up on the effectiveness of corrective actions and resolve any reoccurring quality issues.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the production and R&D teams to ensure quality standards are met during all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Communicate any quality issues to the relevant departments and assist in finding solutions.
- Provide feedback and training to production staff to improve quality performance.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase operational efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze quality trends and suggest changes to improve product quality.
- Implement best practices and industry standards.
Audits and Compliance:
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the company complies with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist in maintaining ISO certifications and other industry certifications related to quality control.
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- Ensure that all testing and measuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs or calibration as required.
