JOB PURPOSE:  

To provide high quality credit and transformational services to group loans clients and also to assist the Branch Relationship Manager in ensuring that financial and operational performance targets for the Group Loan products are achieved in line with corporate goals and objectives

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Management and oversight of the Group Loans Unit including evaluating, monitoring and controlling group loans performance in accordance with agreed performance and targets and take corrective action to ensure their achievement


• Generate and review e-merge (software) reports on daily basis


• Reviews all loan applications recommended by Loan Officers to ensure they conform to lending principles


• Conducts field verification of information provided by the Loan Officers


• Monitors collection of all loans repayments and manage delinquent by tracking defaulting clients


• Conducts area survey to identify potential areas and promote Opportunity products in the area


• Ensures that Loan Officers submit all reports on time


• Reports and updates the Branch Relationship Manager of the activities and status of loan products


• Performs pre-qualification assessment, analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends


• Gathers and analyses information to present financing request to Branch Relationship Manager for approval. Meets with customers; visiting sites of loans; negotiates loan terms and conditions; approves loans within established lending limits or refers to appropriate officer 


• Coordinates processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies


• Ensures that credit inquiries are researched to determine credit worthiness to ensure 100% loan recovery


• Facilitates meetings with potential clients and communicate bank products, services, credit policies and procedures and conduct surprise visits to central meetings to ensure that requirement such as physical set-up and attendance are followed


• Assists Branch Manager to motivate, develop and discipline staff at the branch level


• Establishes loan targets with Branch Relationship Manager
