Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Support:
- Assist obstetricians and gynecologists during patient examinations and procedures.
- Collect and document vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are properly stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide patient education regarding prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum recovery.
- Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar for healthcare providers.
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure all records are up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Process patient billing and insurance claims as necessary.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, services, and health-related questions.
- Coordination of Care:
- Assist in coordinating referrals to specialists, labs, and other healthcare services as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in follow-up care and scheduling postnatal appointments.
- Health Promotion:
- Help organize and implement community outreach programs focused on maternal health and prenatal education.
- Provide resources and information to patients regarding nutrition, exercise, and prenatal wellness.
