Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred). 10+ years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on debt advisory, restructuring, or capital markets—preferably with African exposure. Demonstrated success in originating and executing complex debt transactions and cultivating client and investor networks. Leadership experience in building and scaling teams, ideally in emerging markets. In-depth understanding of Ghana’s financial ecosystem, regulations, and business culture (broader African knowledge a plus). Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (Twi or other local languages an advantage). Commitment to company’s mission of delivering premier debt advisory services.

This role focuses on initiating deal flow, securing capital sources, and recruiting top talent to deliver exceptional debt advisory services, the Head ensures alignment with the firm’s global expertise while capitalizing on Africa’s unique opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Flow Initiation: Identify, originate, and structure debt advisory opportunities - such as restructurings, refinancings, and leveraged financings—for African corporations, financial institutions, and governments.


• Capital Sourcing: Build and maintain relationships with local and international capital providers, including banks, institutional investors, and development finance entities, to fund client transactions.


• Talent Acquisition: Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of debt advisory specialists, analysts, and support staff in Accra, establishing a strong regional foundation.


• Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement company's business strategy, targeting key African sectors and markets, with Accra as the operational hub.


• Client Relationships: Serve as the primary advisor to African clients, delivering customized debt solutions and fostering long-term trust and partnerships.


• Brand Representation: Elevate company’s profile as the leading debt advisory firm in the region through industry engagement, events, and thought leadership.


• Collaboration: Partner with company's global offices to align on cross-border deals, share insights, and uphold service excellence.


• Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with Ghanaian regulations, international financial standards, and company’s risk and ethical guidelines.
