Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all maintenance and operational activities at the site level to ensure the swift delivery of after-sales service, minimize equipment downtime, and maintain high customer satisfaction. The role includes oversight of team performance, resource allocation, client liaison, and the development and documentation of operational standards and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across operations.
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Site Management Unit (SMU), ensuring timely and quality delivery of maintenance services.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with company standards, client expectations, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate the activities of the Maintenance Managers, Planners, Supervisor, and Technicians to meet operational targets.
- Ensure effective deployment of technicians and resources to meet service schedules and urgent repair needs.
- SOP Development & Process Documentation
- Lead the design and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all critical maintenance and operations activities.
- Ensure key work processes are properly documented, standardized, and updated regularly to reflect operational changes and lessons learned.
- Train SMU personnel on newly developed SOPs and ensure compliance through supervision and spot checks.
- Maintenance Planning & Coordination
- Liaise with the Maintenance Planners to review preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Ensure timely execution of planned maintenance and immediate response to breakdowns.
- Track maintenance KPIs such as equipment downtime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Implement initiatives to minimize breakdowns and improve equipment uptime.
- Client Relationship & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on operational and maintenance matters.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to review service performance, discuss concerns, and agree on action plans.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on service delivery, equipment status, and performance metrics.
- People Management & Development
- Supervise and support the Maintenance Managers, Planners, and Supervisor to ensure effective team coordination.
- Monitor technician performance and ensure adherence to work instructions, safety, and quality standards.
- Facilitate training and development of SMU staff to improve technical and operational competencies.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Resource & Inventory Control
- Coordinate with the logistics/warehouse team to ensure availability of spare parts and maintenance tools.
- Monitor usage and request replenishment of critical parts and consumables as needed.
- Approve material requisitions and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
- Reporting & Compliance
- Submit detailed reports on SMU operations, equipment status, and service metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Investigate incidents, breakdowns, and service failures, and recommend corrective actions.
