Our client in the sustainability and environmental services industry is looking for a proactive and versatile General Officer to help implement a community biogas digester and biochar system under the Renew Hope Initiative. The role includes field coordination, community engagement, supervision of construction work, and general project support

 

ROLE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will play a key role in coordinating on-site project implementation, community engagement, civil works supervision, and operational monitoring for the biogas digester system in Akuse. The position requires a proactive, organized, and community-oriented individual capable of supporting technical, administrative, and field activities to ensure the project’s successful execution.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee civil works, site preparation, and construction activities for the biogas digester system.
• Liaise with artisans, contractors, and engineers to ensure quality control and timely completion of works.
• Engage with community leaders, livestock owners, and households to encourage participation and local ownership.
• Conduct sensitization sessions on the benefits of biogas technology and sustainable waste management.
• Assist in developing and executing local marketing strategies to promote biogas adoption and sales.
• Identify potential users, maintain lead records, and facilitate system demonstrations.
• Conduct baseline surveys and field data collection to inform project planning and evaluation.
• Track project progress and prepare concise weekly reports for management review.
• Identify and communicate operational challenges, recommending practical solutions.
• Supervise daily laborers and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Support logistics, procurement, and administrative coordination during installation and testing phases.
• Collaborate closely with the Sustainology project team to ensure smooth and efficient implementation.
