Job Summary
Civil Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering projects related to site infrastructure, construction, and maintenance. This role will work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Planning and Development: Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop site plans and layouts for new construction projects, expansions, and renovations while conducting site surveys and feasibility studies to assess site conditions and identify potential challenges or constraints.
- Infrastructure Design: Design and oversee the construction of site infrastructure, including roads, parking lots, stormwater management systems, and utilities while ensuring that designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Structural Engineering: Provide structural engineering expertise for the design and analysis of steel structures, foundations, and support systems. Perform structural calculations and analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of construction projects.
- Construction Management: Manage construction activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies for construction projects. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land use, environmental protection, and building codes.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with construction projects and develop strategies to mitigate them and, implement safety measures and protocols to protect workers and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including plans, specifications, permits, and correspondence. Prepare progress reports and updates for project stakeholders and management.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure that construction work meets design specifications and quality standards. Coordinate material testing and analysis to verify the strength and durability of construction materials.
- Environmental Management: Implement environmental management practices to minimize the impact of construction activities on the surrounding environment. Develop erosion control measures, sedimentation ponds, and other strategies to protect water quality and natural resources.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of new developments and innovations in civil engineering technology, materials, and construction methods. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
