The Minister of State at the Ministry of Public Sector Reforms, Mr. Samuel Owusu-Adjei, has appealed to the youth not to abandon their vocations at their localities and leave for the urban communities to seek for non-existing lucrative jobs.
Mr. Owusu Adjei said this at the graduation ceremony for 18 girls who have completed three years' training at local some local beautician shops in Winneba.
They were trained in hairdressing and beauty skills, medication, business management, domestic and environmental hygiene and good grooming saloon practice.
They were also taken through the correct application of hair dressing and beautification products and styling techniques.
The minister, who is the MP for the area, advised them to concentrate on the vocation for the benefit of themselves and the parents.
Mr. Owusu-Adjei who is seeking re-election promised to assist members of the association with micro credit to expand and improve their businesses.
Mr. Robert Andrew Ekow Ghunney, Municipal Chief Executive, urged members to honour their tax obligations to enable the assembly get enough funds to finance development projects.
On elections he advised the people to see themselves as one people and refrain from acts that could disturb the peace existing in the country.
Mr. Mike Allan Hammah, NDC Parliamentary candidate for Effutu, advised parents of the girls to continue to help them to establish their shops.
