The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the dates for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
In a letter dated January 24, 2025, addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, the GES shared the examination schedules and called for timely preparation.
The letter, signed by Prince Charles Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, stated that the BECE for school candidates will take place from June 9 to 16, 2025, while the WASSCE for school candidates will run from August 4 to September 19, 2025.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will communicate the registration period to school heads at a later date.
Regional Directors of Education have been instructed to pass on this information to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education.
These officials are expected to inform heads of basic and senior high schools to ensure candidates are adequately prepared for the examinations.
It urged all stakeholders to take note of the dates and make the necessary arrangements to support candidates.
