The Volta Regional Directorate of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has called on tourists both local and foreign to celebrate this year's annual "DECEMBER IN GH" event in the Volta Region.
The GTA says this will enable tourists to experience the best of the Region during the holiday season.
"DECEMBER IN GH" is a month-long festival highlighting the best of Ghana's rich culture, heritage, and entertainment.
Mr Johnny Arthur-Quarm, Volta Regional Director, GTA in a press release copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) disclosed that the Region, renowned for its stunning landscapes, vibrant festivals, serene beaches, and welcoming people was poised to offer unforgettable experiences during the festive season.
He said with numerous events and attractions; the Authority encouraged its partners to actively promote the Region as a premier destination for both local and international visitors.
Mr Arthur-Quarm said the Region was the best destination during this year's December because of its exciting events which ranged from cultural festivals to music and dance performances which kept the Region alive with activities that embodied the spirit of Ghanaian hospitality.
He said the Region also had "natural wonders" to be explored when tourists visit the breathtaking Wii Waterfalls, Mount Afadja, Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, Kpando zipline, scenic beaches and the Volta Lake for adventures that would captivate the soul.
Mr Arthur-Quarm said the savour authentic delicacies like Akple and Abobi Tadi and the vibrant food scenes of the Region had made a made a case of its culinary delights which needed to be explored adding that the welcoming communities would also give tourists an experience of the warmth and hospitality that made the Volta Region a true home away from home.
He urged stakeholders including hotels, restaurants, transport operators and tourism service providers to create special packages, promote events and highlight attractions to visitors because their active involvement would ensure that they made the most of the opportunity to display the Region's unique offerings.
Mr Arthur-Quarm said the Authority counted on the continuous support of its cherished partners in the media and allied institutions in amplifying the beauty and allure of the Volta Region through their platforms while calling on them to assist the GTA work together to solidify the Region's reputation as a must-visit destination during the festive season and beyond.
