Iraq has invited Indian companies to build a 8-10 million tonne refinery as the war-ravaged country rebuilds its energy sector.
"We had a very good meeting with Iraqi Oil Minister, Hussain Al-Shahristani Wednesday in Riyadh and he is keen on Indian companies helping the country build its refining capacity," Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told PTI.
The Iraqi oil minister is visiting New Delhi in the next two weeks to further discuss the prospects of Indian participation in the proposed USD2 billion refinery project, Deora said.
