QNET, a lifestyle and wellness-focused global company, has launched a 360-degree public education and media awareness anti-scam campaign to address and eliminate the use of its name for illegal activities.
The campaign, called QNET Against Scams, is a six-month effort to educate the populace about the firm and warn them not to fall for scams in their name.
The campaign is a comprehensive 360-degree public education and media awareness initiative to be brought up across Ghana, focusing on regions such as Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Ahafo, Volta, Northern and Bono.
At the launch of the campaign in Accra last Wednesday, the Chief Communications Officer of the QI Group, Ramya Chandrasekaran, said over the next six months, the campaign message would be disseminated through various media channels, including television, radio, online news portals, print, social media, as well as billboards.
“We are committed to educating and warning the public about the misuse of our name and ensuring that everyone understands that QNET does not condone any form of fraudulent activities. This campaign is a sequel to the Mama Campaign that we implemented in 2022,” she said.
Ms Chandrasekaran explained that the direct selling industry had a lot of challenges, and unfortunately, QNET had had its own fair share, including defrauding under false pretences and illegally migrating from one country to another across West Africa.
“The unfortunate use of QNET’s name for illegal activities has been a serious cause for alarm for the company, and we have taken steps to educate and warn the public about this through many media engagements and publications over time.
“We are also collaborating with law enforcement and other government agencies to report and prosecute individuals who commit fraud in the name of QNET,” Ms Chandrasekaran stated.
She further stated that the primary objectives of the campaign were in four categories, namely public awareness, education, collaboration with law enforcement and government agencies to prosecute those who misuse the name of the company for illegal activities and to strengthen the commitment to transparency and ethical business practices.
Consequently, Ms Chandrasekaran urged the public to report any suspicious activity falsely representing QNET, should anyone encounter one, to the hotline +233256630005 or network.integrity@qnet.net.
“Please report them to our compliance hotline on WhatsApp or email. Public vigilance and cooperation are vital in helping to maintain the integrity of our brand and protect the public from scams.
“Together, we can fight against scams and ensure that QNET continues to be a force for positive change and empowerment in Ghana. QNET is about empowerment, not exploitation, and we are here to fight against scams,” she said.
