A Goaso Circuit court presided over by Mr Charles Quampah has fined Mateo Kumah 35, a farm labourer 200 Ghana cedis for stealing cocoa beans.
Kumah pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay 30 Ghana cedis as compensation to the complainant or in default serve six months imprisonment.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Charles Arthur told the court that Mr Julius Mensah, a cocoa purchasing clerk lived in the same area with the accused at Kasapin.
He said Mensah purchased eight bags of cocoa and packed them in a shed and when he inspected the cocoa on October 29, realised that one-and-a-half bags of the cocoa were missing.
Police Chief Inspector Arthur said Mr Mensah was informed that Kumah was seen carrying cocoa and when confronted admitted the offence.
He said during a search in his room the missing cocoa was found and after investigations charged with the offence.
