The Greater Accra Hockey Association (GAHA), organisers of the country's flagship hockey league, the Sapholda Hockey, have re-elected Adolph Tetteh Adjei as Chairman for another 4- year term following elections in Accra on Saturday, February 21.
Mr Adjei who will head the 5-member executive board under the renewed mandate, said in his victory speech that the board will prioritise the concerns of members of the association moving forward, in order to promote harmony, unity and progress of GAHA.
He also acknowledged the need to woo other potential sponsors to come on board to augment the long ongoing sponsorship of the league and other hockey tournaments by his own company, Sapholda.
"Before the elections, I realised some members were not happy with some executives so I have personally sampled and taken all their grievances on board and we are going to make sure this new administration addresses all the problems of the previous administration," he said.
"Getitng sponsors is very difficult and at Sapholda we are trying our best but we need more resources, so definitely our agenda includes getting other companies to also come on board to help us," he added.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman Derrick Tamakloe was also retained with 24 votes to the 15 for his challenger, Romeo Bulley in the elections whilst General Secretary Isaac Graham and Treasurer Benjamin Baiden were both retained unopposed.
A newly elected executive member is Robert Attiso Ayitey who defeated incumbent Bright Ohene Okyere by 28 votes to 11 to to complete the 5-member board of GAHA.
