The two-day programme, a follow-up to the maiden edition held in November last year, brought together 13 aspiring coaches — four women and nine men — drawn from Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Central and Volta regions.

Designed for hub coaches who had already completed the mandatory ICC online foundation course, the sessions placed heavy emphasis on practical coaching skills.

Participants were taken through batting fundamentals, bowling objectives, fielding techniques, wicket-keeping drills and effective session planning.

The opening day featured a refresher segment, sharpening coaching guidelines and reinforcing ICC-approved terminology ahead of the assessments.

By the end of the course, all 13 coaches received certification, with the three top performers earning a prized opportunity to progress to the ICC Level 1 Coaching Tutor Course, scheduled for August 28–29 in Ghana under the supervision of the game’s global governing body.

For the GCA, the initiative underlines its commitment to raising coaching standards and spreading cricket knowledge across the country, a vital step in grooming the next generation of players and mentors.
