In-form Dreams FC extended their unbeaten run to seven games yesterday after hammering visiting GoldStars 2-0 at their favourite Tuba Astro Turf Park.
So emphatic was the victory that the homesters had sealed the deal by the end of the first half, making it extremely difficult for their opponents to recover.
After surviving an early scare from GoldStars' Richard Amon Kotey, Dreams FC took over and dominated play with their determined game till the 36th minute when their efforts were rewarded through a cheeky goal by young enterprising striker, Abdul Razak Salifu.
The goal was masterminded by witty Kofi Marshah who turned the GoldStars defence inside-out before setting up predating Salifu to head home the opener.
Captain marvel, Joseph Esso, nearly doubled the lead for Dreams FC seven minutes later but his powerful shot was pushed to corner by goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi to the relief of Coach Frimpong Manso and the away fans.
However, Coach Abdul Karim Zito's side could not be denied just before the break when Izdeen Mohammed drove in a screamer from a Musibau Aziz set-up.
The visitors revamped their squad after recess in a frantic bid to find the equaliser, but goalkeeper Gidios Aseako and substitute Richmond Tetteh proved impregnable.
In the 57th minute, Salifu, who was adjudged the Most Valuable Player just like last Wednesday's game against Bechem United which saw him scoring the only goal, had goalkeeper Kobi at his mercy, but he missed target narrowly from a Musibau pass.
In the heat of the exchanges, Accra-based referee Julian Nunoo was compelled to caution Gideon Anaba and Chris Guede of GoldStars and Dreams FC, respectively, for rough play in the dying minutes.
