The BabyNest, a leading childhood development institute, marked the beginning of its 20th-anniversary celebrations with a spirited health walk through the streets of Accra last Saturday.
The event, which brought together over 500 participants—including parents, teachers, and staff—reflected the institution’s deep-rooted commitment to community, health, and family values.
The walk set off in the early hours from The BabyNest School in Legon, weaving through the Northern Legon Campus Gates near the TF Hostels before heading past the University for Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). Energised by lively music from a moving trailer, participants maintained a steady pace as they made their way past the Trinity Theological Seminary and the La Bawaleshie Traffic Light.
The 10-kilometre route took an exciting turn at La Bawaleshie, where the group ascended towards the Okponglo Traffic Light before looping back to The BabyNest School.
The celebrations culminated in an energetic aerobics session, with participants enthusiastically embracing the moment.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Madam Elfreda Quartey, Executive Assistant for Operations at The BabyNest, described the event as a powerful demonstration of the institute’s vision and impact over the past two decades.
"The BabyNest stands for excellence in childcare and development," she said. "This health walk was more than just a celebration—it was a statement of our values. Our five branches came together to show our unwavering belief in family, and we want the Ghanaian community to see and feel what we represent."
The health walk was just the first in a series of exciting events planned to mark the institution’s 20th anniversary.
The BabyNest has lined up a range of activities, including a clinic and street party for children in Kawukudi, a symposium, an awards night, and other engaging programmes aimed at highlighting its legacy in early childhood development.
As The BabyNest embarks on this milestone year, the institute remains committed to its mission of nurturing young minds and fostering strong family bonds, ensuring that its impact is felt far beyond the walls of its classrooms.
