Reports from the Office of Ghana President John Dramani Mahama indicate that a request has been made to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a report on the state of Ghana football.
This comes on the back of the National Democratic Congress 2024 Presidential Candidate John Mahama’s ascension to the Jubilee House thanks to a comprehensive win in the 2024 Ghana Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
The report is expected to be a 75 page document that details works done by the GFA in recent years especially those concerning Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team-the Black Stars.
The Black Stars in recent years have fared poorly by crashing out at the group stage in back to back AFCON’s and failing to qualify to compete in this year’s AFCON altogether after failing to win a game in six 2025 AFCON qualification games.
Ghana is still in the running to qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the report is expected to provide clear directives to get Ghana to qualify. Ghana also failed to qualify to compete in next month’s CHAN tournament.
