According to Tagoe, he is also the best performer of the art, if boxing is a noble art of self defence adding that, boxing is not for strong people, but smart people, that is why Pernel Whitaker defeated Azumah Nelson. “I have the skills, stamina and natural talent, so I did not go through the amateur ranks. I just jumped into the game because I wanted to box,” he said.

Tickets for the bout between Tagoe and Argentina’s David Fernando Saucedo have started selling at 300ghc for VIP ringside, 200ghc for ringside and 20ghc for the popular stand.

Tagoe (27-1, 13 KOs) would step into the ring for the first time in over a year, after injuries and other technical issues ensured he has not fought since winning the title with a unanimous points decision over South African Mzonke Fana in December 2016.
