The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Prof. Michael Ayamga-Adongo, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to present a new presidential candidate in the 2028 general elections as a sign of remorse for what he described as the party’s poor performance under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.
According to him, the NPP must engage in deep introspection and acknowledge the economic and social hardships Ghanaians endured during its tenure by offering fresh leadership that represents genuine change.
“The NPP ought to take Ghanaians seriously and present a new candidate that shows they have done some introspection and realised the harm they caused,” Prof. Ayamga-Adongo said on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV.
Commenting on the fight against illegal mining (galamsey), Prof. Ayamga-Adongo admitted that the challenge remains significant but assured that the John Mahama administration is committed to restoring Ghana’s water bodies and forest reserves.
