He assured residents that his leadership would be anchored on the same principles of transpar­ency, fairness, and inclusiveness as demonstrated by President John Mahama.

He promised to work closely with the community to ensure that the dividends of democracy reached every corner of Ga North.

Mr Agbo made the pledge in Accra on Friday during a courtesy call on the leadership of the Fise Muslim Community in Accra, as part of the Eid-ul-Adha celebra­tions.

He said the feedback and trust reposed in the current government would be upheld at the local level to bring meaningful change to the people.

“We can only develop when there is peace. Without peace, whatever we build can be de­stroyed. That is why I urge all religious bodies to promote peace in their communities,” he added.

Mr Agbo also emphasised the importance of community engage­ment and education, stating “That peaceful environments are essential for raising children and improving livelihoods.

The Chief Imam of the Fise Muslim Community, Sheikh Ahmed Harun Tijani, in his sermon, called on Ghanaians, par­ticularly Muslims, to embrace piety, perseverance, and compassion in their daily lives and in their service to Allah.

He reminded the congregation that the essence of the occasion went beyond the ritual sacrifice.

“It is not the splitting of the blood or the slicing of the meat that matters to Allah. What Allah requires of us is piety—our fear of Him, our submission, and our devotion,” he stressed.

Reflecting on the story of Prophet Ibrahim, he encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in their own trials.

The Imam called for kindness and generosity during the festival, urging Muslims to extend com­passion not only to fellow believ­ers but also to neighbours of all backgrounds.

“This is a day to show love, empathy, and support to the weak and the poor. Even those who are content but in need deserve our charity,” he added.

He emphasised peaceful coexis­tence, urging all to live in harmony and show compassion as part of their devotion to Allah.

The Deputy Chief Imam of the Community, Yakubu Tamim Froko, advised the public, especially the youth, to exercise caution during the celebrations.

He said while the occasion is joyful, it must be observed re­sponsibly, warning against reckless behaviour and urging the youth to prioritise peace and safety.

Alhaji Froko, also Group Man­aging Director of Kabore Group, assured the youth of the leader­ship’s continued support, including educational assistance to promote community development.
