The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to elevate Kumawu to municipality status in response to a petition from local chiefs.
During a constituency tour on Sunday, November 17, Dr. Bawumia outlined plans for significant development projects in the area, including the establishment of a nursing training college.
He emphasized that these initiatives are aimed at fostering growth and creating opportunities for the people of Kumawu.
“I can contest again if I win the elections but the same cannot be said for John Dramani Mahama. We plan to build a nursing training college in the Kumawu constituency, fix your roads and upgrade Kumawu to a municipality.
“I will account for all these promises when I return to campaign for re-election.”
Bawumia also commissioned a new district assembly office for the chiefs and people of the area.
