She said the club started in the country on December 22, 1987 with the formation of Accra Premier Lions club and now has eleven active clubs involved in voluntarism.
Lion Lassey said the club had for the past 25 years provided several and varied life enhancing services such as building of classrooms, distributing of textbooks, planting of trees and donation to orphanages in some of the communities in the country.
She said the club intends to join hands with the Ministry of Health, Sight Savers and the National Road Safety Authority to organize free eye screening and education for the staff of some media houses and members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union.
She said as part of anniversary, the club will undertake activities, radio and TV discussion about the club, donations to orphanages, distribution of books to some schools and photo exhibition to be climaxed with a fund raising dinner on December 21.
Lion Nelson Agbesi, past District Governor of the Club said even though the club has had challenges in maintaining its clubs in the regions, it hope to address those problems.
He said the greatest moment was the hosting of the 2002 multiple district 403 conventions in Accra where lions from Europe and African attended and urged the public who has the spirit of service to join its membership to enhance its operations.
