President John Dramani Mahama has held up the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL) as a national benchmark for state media evolution, applauding its successful pivot to the digital frontier.
The President noted that Graphic's successful transition into the digital space mirrors the journey of major global media houses, such as the New York Times, which are increasingly moving from print to digital platforms.
He held up this adaptation as a positive example for the media industry.
The endorsement came during a high-level engagement with leadership from the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) at the Jubilee House on Friday afternoon [September 5, 2025].
“Graphic has a good online platform that should be replicated by other state media houses”, he said.
The president's praise underscores a critical message for the industry in the 21st century, where a strong online presence is not optional but essential for survival and relevance.
