Accra will host a three-day international Public Relations Conference and the IPRA Golden World Awards Gala, with President John Dramani Mahama set to deliver the keynote address from October 1 to 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
It is expected to draw leading figures in communication, technology, development, and policy from across the world.
Organised by the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, in partnership with the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the conference will be held on the theme “Global Realities and Innovative Communication.”
It will examine how strategic communication is adapting to global challenges, with a particular focus on communicating Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Africa’s development and the use of communication in addressing illegal mining, also known as galamsey.
Participants will engage in expert discussions, practical case studies, and sector-focused sessions designed to provide tools and insights for navigating today’s communication and technology landscape. Exhibitions and optional heritage tours will also be featured as part of the programme.
President Mahama, who is a Fellow of both IPR Ghana and APRA, will be the Special Guest of Honour.
High-profile speakers include Jan Eissfeldt, Director and Global Head of Trust and Safety at the Wikimedia Foundation, and Emmanuel Lubanzadio, Africa Lead at OpenAI, alongside several distinguished experts from the public relations, policy, and technology sectors.
