Dr. Albert S.L. Kitcher, Honorary Consul of Ghana to Ukraine, has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.
He made the statement during a meeting with Mr. Ivan Lukachuk, Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine to Ghana, in Kyiv, Ukraine, where they discussed areas of mutual interest.
From June 26 to 27, the two diplomats visited the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv to explore opportunities for collaboration.
The chamber meeting focused on enhancing strategic trade relations between Ghanaian and Ukrainian businesses and the potential organisation of a Ghana-Ukraine Business Forum.
At the university, the delegation met with Miss Kseniia Smyrnova, Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation, where discussions centered on expanding educational opportunities for Ghanaian students, following the recent opening of the university's Center for African Studies on Africa Day.
Dr. Kitcher said the commencement of the Centre for African Studies would enable the appreciation of rich African cultures and values.
Reflecting on his own education in Ukraine, he stated that it had a positive impact on his life and advocated for similar opportunities for Ghanaians.
Dr. Kitcher expressed optimism that closer cooperation with the Embassy of Ghana in Ankara, accredited to Ukraine, would further strengthen the bilateral relationship.
Mr. Lukachuk expressed gratitude to Dr. Kitcher for his dedication, and both agreed to sustain cooperation in pursuit of practical outcomes.
