It was a hot Saturday afternoon, at Keri, some 8km from Nkwanta where INGH was undertaking a medical outreach.
People had queued in high expectation of seeking medical attention while others who had already seen the medical personnel were getting ready to go back to their homes.
Suddenly, the news went around; there was an emergency, a woman in her thirties, Esther Ansah was writhing in extreme pain. The Medical team quickly attended to her and decided to refer her to the nearest hospital for immediate attention.
On arrival at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital at Nkwanta, Esther was diagnosed with suffering from appendicitis and rushed to the theatre for surgery.
The Medical personnel at the hospital indicated that she could have lost her life if prompt action had not been taken. Esther, who is still on admission is doing well. Her family members who had brought her for the medical outreach were grateful for the effort to save Esther’s life.
