The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Mr. Francis Kojo Arthur, has pledged to offer scholarships to any student who scores aggregate six to eight in the on-going Basic Education
Certificate Examination in the Gomoa West District.
Mr. Arthur made the pledge when he addressed the candidates at their centre at Apam Senior High School.
He urged them to take the examination serious as their "passport to the next ladder" of their academic pursuit.
The MP advised them to have confidence in what their teachers had taught them and believe that what they had been taught could help them to
pass the examination.
Mr. Arthur cautioned them against indulging in malpractices which could have repercussions on their work and endanger their future.
Mr. Archibald Kobina Tuah, Headmaster of Apam Senior High School, who conducted the MP round, commended Mr. Arthur for showing interest in the
work of the students and also pledging the scholarship.
The Headmaster appealed to MPs, Ministers and other government officials to pay regular visits to schools for the children to see them as role
models.
The MP also visited the other centres at Mozano, Dawurampong and Ngyiresi and advised the candidates to improve upon the performance of their
predecessors who were last in the 2009 BECE grading in the Central Region.
