Government has released twenty-nine million, seven hundred and sixty thousand, six hundred and twenty-five Ghana Cedis (GH¢29,760,625.00) to pay off capitation grants due basic schools for the
second and third terms of the 2009/2010 academic year.
A statement from the Ministry of Information explained that the amount also covers the payment for subsidies to Senior High Schools for the second
and third terms.
"Fifteen million, seven hundred and six thousand, six hundred and thirty Ghana Cedis (GH¢15,706,630) out of the amount is for the payment of the capitation grant, while the remaining fourteen million, fifty-three thousand, nine hundred and ninety-five Ghana Cedis (GH¢14,053,995) is for the payment of the subsidies to Senior High Schools."
The statement said with the latest release through the Ministry of Education, government has fully settled the capitation grant for basic
schools and subsidies for Senior High Schools for the 2009/2010 academic year.
