Mariah Carey will have someone to carry on her belting legacy.
Her 14-year-old daughter is reportedly being groomed to be a future pop star like Mariah. It’s been Monroe Cannon’s dream to be a singer, and reports indicate we could soon get to hear her marvellous gift.
Given her vocal talents, she may be the one selling out shows in front of screaming fans before we know it.
Steps are being taken to make Monroe’s dream a reality. A request is being made for them to be allowed clothing, headwear and merchandise for promotional purposes for her.
Meanwhile, Monroe is busy at work trying to convince music producers that she’s got what it takes to make it. “It’s early days, but she’s been in the studio trying things out,” a music insider told The U.S. Sun. “She’s got a brilliant voice and if things go to plan it won’t be too long before the world hears it.”
Monroe has shared snippets of her singing work on TikTok before and gone on stage at some of her mom’s concerts. She’s got a long way to go to live up to her mother, who’s won multiple Grammy Awards and is renowned for having a five-octave vocal range. That range had many people believing Mariah and Whitney Houston were longtime rivals. According to Mariah, though, this was simply the public perception.
Having the ability to belt is something that runs in the Carey female genes. Mariah’s mother, Patricia, was an opera singer and vocal coach. Monroe could be on track to release something long before her mom became famous. Mariah’s first studio album came out in 1990 when she was 21.
Her newest album, Here for It All, came out in late September.
