The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has issued a stern warning to all gold buying licence holders over failures to submit mandatory monthly transaction reports.
In a notice dated February 26, 2026, GoldBod highlighted that several licencees had not complied with the reporting obligations outlined in the terms and conditions of their licences.
All licence holders are required to provide detailed monthly reports covering gold purchases, including quantity, purity, value, and other activities conducted during the reporting period. Reports for January 2026 were due by 15 February, but a number of operators failed to meet this deadline.
The agency cautioned that continued non-compliance could lead to licence revocation and constitutes an offence under Section 63 of the Ghana Gold Board Act.
GoldBod reiterated its commitment to enforcing regulations in the gold trading sector, emphasising the importance of transparency, accountability, and proper governance.
